Happy Birthday, Prince Harry! Royal Turns 28 While Clothed, Serving in Afghanistan

Minus a couple minutes in the shower, perhaps, we doubt Prince Harry will be spending much time today in his birthday suit. Instead, the rowdy yet dependably brave royal will probably mark the big 2-8 at Camp Bastion, the base where his British Army unit is currently stationed in Afghanistan. Knowing the cheeky redhead, however, we imagine he and his mates will try to carve out time for a makeshift celebration, if possible. Then again...and maybe he'll welcome the lack of crazy-party expectations that surely would have shadowed him were he spending his birthday in London. After all, Prince William's little brother just spent a weekend in Las Vegas that, even if it's all a Hangover-style blur to him, has been emblazoned in our memories for many royal birthdays to come. But we give Harry mad props for taking his scandal lumps like a man--he didn't make excuses (heck, even the palace didn't make excuses) and he got right back out in the public eye, attending the WellChild Awards and the Summer Paralympics before rejoining his fellow troops for another combat tour. Even if we're just going by the last month, Prince Harry's had quite a year. So, may he have a happy and--above all--safe 28th birthday!
